Mould
Mould is such a common presence in Australian homes whether or not your home has been directly affected by flooding. Mould toxicity in the body can present with an array of symptoms including; increased nasal discharge, eye irritation, cough, skin rashes, headache/brain fog & wheezing. Good news is there are so many things you can do to prevent mould developing in your home & ways to support yourself if you have been exposed.
To prevent mould from developing in the home during summer/humid or rainy seasons;
Dilute clove bud essential oil in a spray bottle with white vinegar. Spray on all surfaces that may be prone to mould. This may include; windows, leather, walls/ceilings/doors. Wipe the solution all over the prone areas.
Keep areas ventilated by utilising a dehumidifier, air purifier & fans.
To remove mould from your home & reduce associated symptoms;
Repeat the previous two steps.
Diffuse essential oils such as; clove, ravensara, eucalyptus, thyme & peppermint to aid with airborne mould spores. These oils will also aid in keeping your airways clear.
Utilise nutrients such as NAC & quercetin. There are also binders available such as Quicksilver Ultra Binder. All of the products have the ability to help remove mould spores from the body & reduce any associated symptoms. However, these should all be utilised under the supervision of a naturopath as they can cause adverse effects.
